New Mexico Joins Future City Competition

The New Mexico Regional Competition is an unique opportunity for middle school children to combine skills in engineering, environmental science, and art to create a vision for the future.  Exercising your imagination and sharing your ideas are not only fun but essential for ensuring sustainable growth for our communities. 

Vision: New Mexico Regional Competition is established to promote positive learnings through teamwork, creative writing, computer modeling, resource planning, and art for middle school children.

Regional Competition Logistics:

  • Students 6th through 8th grades are all eligible to participate. 
  • Each participating organization must register online. 
  • There are no limits on the number of teams within each organization. 
  • Each team must have at least three members.
  • The 2014 Regional Competition will be held tentatively on Saturday, January 25, 2014.

Volunteers: New Mexico Regional Competition is excited to work with schools, professional societies, university, and local communities to ensure adequate support is provided for the teams.   The Coordinating Committee will be working throughout the summer to recruit educators, mentors, and judges for the event.  Please feel free to contact futurecitynm@comcast.net if you wish to volunteer for the event.
