On the day of the competition, students give a 7 minute presentation discussing features of their future city followed by a 5 - 8 minute question and answer period from the judges (overall time will not exceed 15 minutes). In the Southern California Region, this presentation should be considered a professional presentation, not a theatrical play.
The presentation is worth 70 points.
There are very specific rules about presentations and a detailed rubric. Be sure to download and read carefully both the rubric and the rules.
Be aware that this formal presentation is only a small part of your day at the competition. All of the Special Awards judges will talk to you about what you have learned during the Future City process and about their Special Award topic. See our SoCal homepage for a list of Special Awards topics.
