NCEES is proud to be the sponsor of the Best Land Surveying Practices award in the Future Cities competitions.  This award recognizes the design that employs the best land surveying practices, taking into consideration the high standards used by surveyors to help protect the public’s safety and welfare.

Our organization promotes the advancement of licensure for surveyors and engineers. In order to become a Professional Surveyor or Professional Engineer, you must take our exams—the Fundamentals of Surveying or the Fundamentals of Engineering right before or soon after you graduate college, and then after four years of experience you will take the Principles and Practices of Surveying, the Principles and Practices of Engineering, or the Structural Engineering exam.

After receiving a passing score on both of the exams, you can put a P.S. or P.E. behind your name.
