Planning - Getting Started
Teams work on their future city design from September until the competition day in January. Once your team has registered through the national website, materials will be mailed to you. In your welcome packet you will learn about the rules and requirements of the program.
Once you have received your materials we recommend you meet with your engineer-mentor to determine a schedule for meeting as a team. Take time to read the handbook and materials included in your welcome packet. You may wish to tab and highlight the requirements in your handbook. See this year's rules for a list of all requirements, which is also included in your packet.
During your first team meeting you may want to review the requirements together and develop a mini-project plan for meeting the deliverable dates for the Essay and Narrative and to determine roles and responsibilities.
Tutorial sessions are offered throughout the fall to help you through each of the deliverables. Check the calendar for dates and times. All tutorials are led by subject matter experts and will be uploaded to the website by the end of September. The first session, Getting Started, will be offered at two different times.
