Official Team
Includes 3-5 students and 1 Coach. A Coach must be an adult and can be any educator, engineer, or STEM enthusiast. There are no officially recognized mentors; however, unofficial mentors are welcome. Future City High School does not operate under a regionally-based structure. All teams are their own entity and will have direct contact with the Future City staff and Program Manager.
Multiple Teams
A Coach can form multiple teams under one Coach account.
Students may only participate in one team.
For
Students
Future City High School is designed to be student-led. Students create their own accounts to access resources, the Handbook, rubrics, and even submit deliverables!
For Coaches
Coaches guide the team members through this project-based learning experience, helping them tackle a relevant citywide sustainability issue as they imagine, research, brainstorm, design, and build cities of the future.
The work is entirely student-led, but the Coach keeps the team on track and offers feedback and guidance. Both the Coaches and the students have the ability to submit deliverables.
Time Commitment
About 50-80 hours throughout September – February
Who can be a Coach?
